Kate Thiel, located in Atlanta, GA, is an illustrator and graphic designer.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Communications from Kennesaw State University.

As a graphic designer

She was introduced to graphic design when she was young through packaging design. When she was older the connection formed: graphic design and evoking emotion. Kate strives to understand human nature and design to it. In her personal work, she focuses on modern design. She enjoys the simplicity of minimalism and the bold statements it can offer. In client work, she is attentive in her type treatments, use of images, and color compositions. She is audience focused and not afraid to push the boundaries of design.

As an illustrator

Originally from San Antonio, TX, it often shows influence over elements of Kate’s work. While keeping these Texan traditions alive in their Southern home, her mother introduced her to Art Nouveau and Fantasy.

After the death of a close friend, Kate developed a fascination with death and decomposion. She explores the meaning of the spirit and what is left of us after we die through use of animals, mostly cats, foxes, and birds.
